Volunteers sought for special needs class

Volunteers are needed to assist with children’s programming for the Visions for Tomorrow class. The children’s group may include children with a variety of special needs, including ADD/ADHD, autism, Tourette’s syndrome and depressive, eating or anxiety disorders. Volunteers with interest or experience working with children with special needs and students in related areas of study are welcome. ¢ Headquarters Counseling Center seeks volunteers to distribute fliers Wednesday for the 2006 Life Support Rally for Headquarters Counseling Center on April 22. Volunteers must have an automobile and valid driver’s license. Individuals and groups are welcome. Volunteers should pick up fliers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Headquarters, 211 E. ¢ Lawrence Memorial Hospital seeks energetic volunteers with an interest in customer service. Volunteers are asked to make a three- to six-month commitment for three to four hours once a week to provide service to patients, visitors, fellow volunteers and staff members. Currently, volunteers are needed for the LMH South mammogram area waiting room. Volunteer shifts are available from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday. ¢ The Ballard Center is looking for a volunteer substitute driver to help with pickup and distribution of food through the commodities program that serves low-income community members. The volunteer must have a valid driver’s license and carry insurance, and have the ability to lift and carry boxes. Training will be provided. For more information, contact Paul Hunt at 842-0729.

¢ The Lawrence Meals on Wheels program seeks volunteer drivers to assist with meal delivery for a recently established delivery route. Driver positions are available each day of the week. Route delivery takes approximately 45 minutes. For more information, call Kim Culliss at 979-1440.
