Kansas University’s department of music and dance is having a joint horn recital at 7:30 p.m. today at Swarthout Recital Hall.

The program will feature guest artist Calvin Smith, associate professor of horn at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Paul Stevens, assistant professor of horn at KU.

Smith and Stevens have played together for many years in Los Angeles, with the Joffrey Ballet, the Long Beach Symphony and more.

Both Smith and Stevens will perform four solo works at the event, which is free and open to the public.
