Old Home Town - 40 years ago

Construction was planned on a $1 million addition and air control project at the FMC Corp. plant here. Maynard Stark was general manager.

Dwight Metzler of Kansas University, a professor of civil engineering and executive secretary of the Kansas Water Resources Board, was leaving to become deputy director of health for New York. New York Gov. Nelson Rockefeller's office announced the decision.

June Mazure was named director of nursing at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
