¢ Huff Selected: Lawrence High senior Drew Huff will play in the Kansas City Basketball Coaches Assn. annual Kansas-Missouri Metro All-Star game at 5 p.m. Saturday at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. Huff, a guard, was the only Lawrence player selected.

¢ Youth Softball, Baseball: Registration deadline for the city’s youth baseball, softball and blastball programs is April 13. Forms are available at all rec centers and at www.lprd.org. For information, call 832-7940.

¢ Raintree Run: Entries are still being accepted for Sunday’s Raintree Run half marathon, 5k and mile fun run. Late registration will continue until 7:30 a.m. on race day. For information, go to www.raintreerun.com.

¢ Topeka Race Champs: Lawrence’s Steve Riley, Dee Boeck and Fran Breslauer were age-group winners in Saturday’s Topeka Run for Life 10-mile. Second-places went to Jodie Smith, Karen Hyde and Diane Waltho. McLouth’s Rachel Jourey earned a third place. In the two-mile division, Kaitlyn Saathoff of Tonganoxie was third overall, and Lawrence’s Julie Tomlinson was fourth.

¢ Roesler JGC Winner: Chad Roesler shot a 74 and won Saturday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by one stroke over Van Reichert. Rob Werling was third with a 79. In net scoring, Jeff Jones was low with a 72, followed by Brian Tuttle and Curt Anderson, both with 73s.

¢ Morris Shines on Mat: Amanda Morris of Lawrence Prairie Fire Wrestling earned a second place at the USGWA Nationals last weekend. Teammates Dottie Housworth, Mariah Guilfoyle and Stephanie Simpson all posted fifth-place finishes.

¢ WJHS Camp: West Junior High’s basketball camp for incoming seventh- through ninth-grade boys will be June 5-9. For information, call Stan Frantz at 832-5500.

¢ KURFC Home Saturday: Kansas University Rugby FC will play host to Minneapolis RFC, Iowa State and Olathe U-19 Saturday at Westwick Complex south of Lawrence. The first match will begin at 11 a.m.
