Lawrence Police have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of raping an acquaintance at a party during the weekend.

The man was booked into the Douglas County Jail on Sunday evening. As of Monday, no formal charges had been filed against him, and a police report had not yet been completed, but Dist. Atty. Charles Branson said the case would be reviewed Tuesday for possible charges.

Prosecutors generally have 48 hours in which to make a decision about charges.
