LINCOLN, NEB. The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours Wednesday in Cook Pavilion to continue preparations for Saturday's game with Iowa State.
Coach Bill Callahan said Wednesday's practice focused on speed.
"It was really a good, fast practice," he said. "We came out here and emphasized speed, and we certainly got that today being inside the Cook."
Callahan said moving practice inside Cook was not prompted by the drop of temperatures, which reached the low 60s in Lincoln.
"The surface inside the Cook Pavilion is much faster, so we wanted to get on a quicker, faster surface," he said.
Callahan said that, though the new Championship Indoor Center was ready for practice, he did not see moving the team there this week.
"Not knowing the new surface yet, I didn't want to get in there. It is very similar to what we have outdoors, but it has not fully settled yet. I am certain that we will be in there in the next week or so," he said.
Junior cornerback Zackary Bowman practiced Wednesday and would be ready to play Saturday, Callahan said.
