Den One of Cub Scout Pack 3077, chartered to Sunflower Elementary PTO, hiked the Backwoods Nature Trail at Clinton Lake on Sept. 18. During the hike, they learned about the “Leave No Trace” guidelines for protecting the natural environment. While hiking, the Scouts collected trash along the trail. Scouts who participated were: Lucas Mackey, Jacob DiVilbiss, Taylor Smith, Tanner Smith, Cole Greenwood, Cy Burghart, Kelvin Lopez and Michael Heschmeyer.

¢ Venturing Crew 2052, chartered to St. Margaret’s Church in Lawrence, recently had their Fall Rain Gutter Banana Split Recruitment Party at Dad Perry Park. Crew members who participated were: Carol Fittell, Kelsey Garrison, Christy Howard, Kristin Ohlemeier, Alexis Tommer, Clarissa Wagner, JoAnna Male and Kayla Chilcoat. Adults present were: Rose Wagner, Ralena McCurdy, Kevin Chilcoat and Barb Pressgrove. Frank McClelland, the new district executive for Pelathe District, also attended.

The crew attended the council-wide Venturing COPE/ Climbing event Sept. 9-11 at Camp Theodore Naish Scout Reservation in Bonner Springs. Members participated in COPE, climbing, rappelling, rifle and archery.

Crew members who attended were: Clarissa Wagner, Kelsey Garrison, Christy Howard, Carol Fittell, Kathy Lewis and JoAnna Male. They were accompanied by adult leaders Rose Wagner, Barb Pressgrove, Martin Pressgrove and Ralena McCurdy.
