Concordia ? A man was fatally shot when two Concordia police officers were trying to make an arrest Thursday night, city officials said.

The name of the man has not been released.

According to a statement from Larry Paine, the Concordia city manager, the man died at the Cloud County Health Center. Details of the shooting were not provided, nor was it disclosed why the officers were attempting to arrest the man.

The city referred inquiries to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, which in turn deferred to the Cloud County attorney’s office. In a statement, that office said only that it and the KBI were investigating the shooting.
