Kansas University’s season-opening basketball festival, Late Night in the Phog, will run 6:30 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at Allen Fieldhouse.

New NCAA legislation allows such events to start earlier the day before the first official practice, which this year will be Oct. 15.

Admission is free. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fans are encouraged to bring donations of money for hurricane-relief efforts. Additionally, fans may donate nonperishable food items, which will help supply local food pantries.

The event will feature music by the KU pep band, introductions and scrimmages by the KU men’s and women’s basketball teams and more.
