Hurricane shifts game from Baylor to KU

Because of the threat posed by Hurricane Rita, Kansas University’s Big 12 Conference soccer opener today against Baylor has been moved from Waco, Texas, to the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.

Game time is 4 p.m. Admission is free.

The shift means Kansas will have two home games this weekend. The Jayhawks will also meet Texas A&M at 1 p.m. Sunday on their home field.

Kansas and Texas A&M shared the league’s regular season title last season by posting identical 8-2 records. The Jayhawks edged A&M, 1-0, last year in College Station, Texas.

The first 500 fans at Sunday’s match will receive a free KU T-shirt as the Jayhawks attempt to break the home attendance record of 886 set last year against Iowa State.
