City commissioners will receive an overview of the city’s requirements related to preventing stormwater pollution. Chad Voigt, the city’s stormwater engineer, will deliver the report to commissioners.

Background

In recent months, city commissioners have had questions about city policies that prohibit nonprofit car washes in unapproved locations, and requirements that make it difficult for merchants to wash off their sidewalks. Voigt’s office has expressed concerns over both activities because they potentially could produce polluted water that runs into the city’s stormwater system, which drains to the Kansas River.
