Josi Lima tied a career high with 21 kills, and Andi Rozum recorded her 4,000th career assist as the Kansas University volleyball team rallied for a victory Saturday in a Big 12 Conference showdown with Oklahoma at Horejsi Center.

After winning the first game 30-28, the Jayhawks dropped the next two games, 23-30 and 27-30. However, KU rallied to win game four, 30-14, and took the deciding fifth game, 15-13, improving to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12.

Oklahoma dropped to 5-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play with the loss.

“As much as you try to tell your team about how every Big 12 opponent is worthy of our best effort, you need something like that to truly believe it,” said KU coach Ray Bechard. “We turned it around big-time in game four.”

Lima led all hitters with her 21 kills, tying a career high she has reached twice before, including once earlier this season. She also had a match-high 11 digs.

With her 56 assists, Rozum became just the third player in school history to record 4,000 career assists. She now has 4,020 and is just 189 shy of the school record.

The victory allowed KU to end a six-game homestand with a perfect 6-0 record. The Jayhawks travel to No. 18 Texas on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. match.
