Man sustains injuries after falling 8 feet

A man was transported to an area hospital by helicopter after he fell from about 8 feet Friday evening while building a house south of Eudora.

Capt. Lexie Engleman, of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical, said she could not divulge the man’s name, injuries or condition. Emergency authorities received the call after 6 p.m. and responded to 2345 N. 600 Road in southeastern Douglas County.

The man fell from scaffolding, and he was later flown from the scene by LifeStar Medical, Engleman said.

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers, Eudora EMS and Eudora Township firefighters also responded.
