? Joe Crede drove in the go-ahead run with an infield single in the 10th inning, and the struggling Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 2-1, Friday night.

The White Sox won for just the second time in eight games and maintained their 41â2-game lead over the Cleveland Indians, who beat the Kansas City Royals.

Chicago had a lead of 91â2 games Sept. 7 and was 15 games up Aug. 1.

Bobby Jenks (1-0) pitched the final 11â3 innings for his first major-league victory.

Boston – Manny Ramirez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 10th, lifting Boston.
