Seabury goes 2-1 at Maranatha quad

? Molly Thurman had 14 kills and four blocks, and Linsdey Ahlen had 10 kills and nine service aces as Lawrence’s Seabury Academy went 2-1 at a high school volleyball quadrangular Thursday at Shawnee Maranatha.

Seabury (7-7) beat Maranatha, 25-21, 25-16; and Olathe Christian, 30-28, 25-10; but lost to Kansas City Turner, 25-20, 25-20.

“It was a good day for us,” Seabury coach Craig Friedrichsen said. “It was good to get back on the winning track.”

Melissa Burch, a ninth-grader, was 20-for-23 on serves with 11 aces for Seabury.

The Seahawks will travel to a tournament Saturday in Hartford.
