Elizabeth and Edward James Jr., Locust Grove, Okla., announce the birth of their son, Cameron Spradlin James, born Aug. 27, 2005, at W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla. He has a sister, Cadence Marie James, 1.

Maternal grandparents are Gregory and Donna Manker, Baldwin. Paternal grandparents are Billy and Julie Spradlin, Locust Grove, Okla. Great-grandparents are Bill and Mina Hundley, and Donald Luther.

¢ Daryl A. Schrock, son of Wayne and Janet Schrock, Lawrence, graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif., with a doctorate in clinical psychology and a Master of Divinity degree. He recently completed a one-year internship at a VA hospital in Lakewood, Wash. Schrock has accepted a one-year, post-doctoral position as a research fellow at the Harbor-UCLA Hospital in Torrance, Calif.

¢ David Herpich has received a University Graduate Fellowship to pursue a Master of Music degree in music composition at the University of South Florida in Tampa. David completed requirements for a Bachelor of Music degree in music composition and music theory from Kansas University in July.

¢ The Flory family reunion will be at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at Lone Star Church of Brethren. Members are to bring their own table service. Drinks will be furnished.

¢ The Lawrence High School Class of 1965 will have its 40th reunion Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

On Sept. 30, the class will have a float in the homecoming parade which starts at 2:30 p.m. from South Park. Registration and pre-game tailgate begin at 5 p.m. at Don’s Steakhouse parking lot, 2176 E. 23rd St., with a shuttle bus to and from the homecoming football game.

There will be a memorial service for classmates at 1 p.m. Oct. 1 at the high school. There will be a mixer at the American Legion, 3408 W. Sixth St. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the DJ starts at 8 p.m.

The class plans to attend the Lawrence Lions Alumni Hall of Honor ceremony at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the high school.

¢ Lucas Thompson, Lawrence, is the recipient of the Thomas Boston Gordon Memorial Scholarship. Lucas will receive an award of $2,000 to be used toward college expenses while studying American studies, English, history and political science.

His accomplishments include serving on the Senate Student Rights Committee, membership in the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Society, co-coordinating the Freshman Leadership Council and induction into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Lucas has served his chapter as archivist and editor of the Alpha Nu yearbook.

¢ Olivia Catloth, Baldwin, daughter of Rob Catloth and Debby Johnson, has been selected to participate in the 2006 Miss Kansas USA/Teen Pageant. The pageant will be Nov. 25-27 in Overland Park. She will compete in swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions.

¢ The following Kansas University students from the area have pledged sororities. New members are: Kyleigh Garman, Alpha Gamma Delta, Baldwin; Jenna Allegre, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Lyndsey Proctor, Pi Beta Phi, Ottawa; Alyssa Higgins, Delta Delta Delta, Perry.
