Seabury volleyball 2-1 at home quad

Seabury Academy’s volleyball squad battled to two wins and a tough loss Thursday night at a home quad. The Seahawks beat Shawnee Maranatha 25-18, 25-8, and Elwood 25-13, 25-17, but the Seahawks couldn’t put away Flint Hills Christian in an excruciating 25-27, 17-25, 27-29 loss.

Senior Lindsey Ahlen had 28 kills and three blocks, and junior Molly Thurman had 15 kills for the Seahawks.

“Our big two hitters were our big two hitters again,” Seabury coach Craig Friedrichsen said. “It was a hot night in our gym.”

Friedrichsen also cited setter Laura Hoffman, saying “she was just fantastic.

Seabury (5-3) will travel Tuesday to K.C. Sumner.
