Empty words

To the editor:

It was good to hear President Bush’s words of praise the other day for his FEMA director. It was at the photo opportunity after he landed in Mississippi. It was also good that the president assured us that the U.S. government was doing all it could to help the people of New Orleans in this trying time. The only problem was that, as he assured his country, I counted six helicopters and their crews lined up for the backdrop.

Why weren’t those helicopters and crews out saving the people of New Orleans? How many died because you wanted to have those helicopters in your “picture-perfect background” and not saving lives? President Bush, no matter what your trusted staff says, you don’t have any clothes on.
