¢ Reaney Dominates: Emma Reaney of the Lawrence Aquahawks won all six swim events she entered in the girls ages 11-12 portion of the Central Zone swim championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. Molly Albrecht of the Aquahawks earned one gold medal at the meet. Earlier, at the Division One long course championships in Lenexa, Reaney won all nine events she entered. Meanwhile, the Aquahawks’ Ben Sloan won three races and Albrecht two. Heather Clark, Morgan Flannigan, Caitlin Gallagher, Chloe Portela, Alyssa Rudman, Sarah Schwartz and Elle Weber won one event apiece.

¢ Youth Spirit Clinic: Free State High’s spirit squad will hold a clinic for youths in kindergarten through sixth grade at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 in the FSHS gym. The cost is $30. For information, call Jama Crady at 832-6050.

¢ Stagg JGC Champ: Bud Stagg fired a 76 and won Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club weekly tournament at Alvamar by a stroke over Van Reichert and Mike McNelly. Richard High was fourth with an 80. In net scoring, Tom Taylor was low with a 71, followed by Jay Patterson 72, Bob Losasso 73 and Gary Neal 74.

¢ Volleyball Deadline: The city has extended the registration deadline for its adult fall volleyball leagues until Friday. For information, call 832-7920 or check the Web at www.lprd.org.

¢ Youth Basketball: Registration deadline is Sept. 21 for the city’s youth basketball program. Forms are available at all city rec centers or on the Web at www.lprd.org. For information, call 832-7940.

¢ Ray’s Liquor Third: Lawrence Ray’s Liquor placed third out of 23 teams at the Men’s ASA Class D state slow-pitch tournament in Salina and will be the only Kansas team competing in this weekend’s national tourney in Midland, Texas. Team members are Danny Novak, Bruce Sands, Nate Jahn, Greg Hurst, Steve White, Eric Pfaltzgraff, Jeremiah Ingerson, Adam Kasson, Mike Hernandez, Wes Warren and Jason Helms. The coach is Rob Allen.

¢ Youth Bowling: Lawrence U.S. Bowling Congress Youth Program (formerly YABA) will hold a sign-up session at 9 a.m. Saturday at Royal Crest Lanes. Ages 3 to 21 are eligible. For information, call Royal Crest at 842-1234 or Mike Miller at 864-5626.
