Leavenworth ? Lawrence High’s girls tennis team picked up a victory, a tie and a loss at a triangular Wednesday at Leavenworth High.

The Lions beat Leavenworth, 3-1; tied Shawnee Mission North, 2-2; and lost to Olathe Northwest, 4-0.

“I hope we learned from today,” Lions coach Dick Wedel said. “It wasn’t too bad. Could have been worse. At times, sometimes for several points in a row, we played well, but we were not nearly consistent enough. We have to keep the ball in play longer, not shoot our own toes off with unforced errors.”

Kelly Morgan picked up two of the Lions’ victories at No. 2 singles. Lauren Kelley and Laura Wilson picked up two victories at No. 1 doubles.

The Lions will play host to a match today at the Lawrence Tennis Center.
