Chiefs QB Green forced to miss practice

October 30, 2005

— Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green missed practice Friday but is expected to play today against the San Diego Chargers.

Reportedly, Green left the team because his father died. Green's father, Jim, is 58.

Coach Dick Vermeil said Friday that Green missed practice because of a family situation. He would not answer any other questions, except to say that Green would be with the Chiefs on Saturday when the team traveled to San Diego for today's game against the Chargers.

Green hasn't missed a game or a start since joining the Chiefs in 2001.
