CAAS to scare up food for needy

The Kansas University student group Concerned, Active, and Aware Students (CAAS) will hold its third annual “Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat” nonperishable food collection on Monday. Collected food will be donated to Lawrence food pantries.

The collection will be done in West Lawrence neighborhoods that are family-based and well-lit, including Alvamar, Inverness and Monterey Way.

Volunteers are asked to come in costume. The event starts at 5 p.m., in the KU Memorial Stadium parking lot by the Kansas Union Tunnel Entrance. The event ends between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the stadium. The community is encouraged to bring donations to the tunnel entrance between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
