Members of the Lawrence Community Interfaith Initiative will organize a convocation Sunday to talk about how to address needs in the community.

The event will be at 3 p.m. in South Park. It will include speeches by community leaders.

The convocation is part of what group organizers hope is a citywide Day of Prayer and Contemplation on issues involving hunger and poverty.

The Lawrence Community Interfaith Initiative also has scheduled a Faith in Action Day for people of faith volunteering at local service organizations. That is scheduled for Nov. 12.
