The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club on Oct. 14 played a stratified Mitchell movement at seven and a half tables directed by Don Brennaman. Playing North-South, Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark placed first in A. First in B and second in A went to Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee, followed by Virginia Seaver and Chuck Hedges at third in A. Betty Spalsbury and Bob Anderson won first in C.

Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman won first in A playing East-West, and Don Brennaman and Yvonne Hedges won second. Jean Otney and Julia Brooks were third in A. Bob Dailey and Clara Elkins won first in B and C, followed by Harry Talley and Don Daugherty, who won second in B and C.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club played three tables of Swiss teams on Oct. 16. The game was directed by Jerry Sloan. The team of Paul Heitzman, Klee Zaricky, Sally Taylor and Virginia Seaver won the event.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at 10 and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Oct. 17. Playing North-South, Bobby Patton and Lois Clark won first in A, B and C, followed by Dorothy Netson and Jeff Nash, who won second in A and B. Paul Heitzman and Virginia Seaver were third in A, and Mary Beth Treece and Gary Joyce placed second in C and third in B.

Donna Johnson and Dave Piro led the East-West pairs, placing first in A. Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee won first in B and second in A, and Lester and Julia Dalton won third in A. Margrete Hartman and Pat Burgstahler won first in C and second in B.

¢ The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s Oct. 19 game played host to eight tables that were directed by Virginia Seaver. In a stratified Mitchell movement, Patt Radford and Lois Clark won first in A at North-South. Virginia Eddy and Phyllis Brownlee were second and Harriett Olson and Linda Heavin won third in A and first in B.

Charles Hedges and Shirlie Vaughn won first in A at East-West, followed by Gary and Mary Joyce, who won first in B and second in A. Florine Creek and Frances Vogel were third in A and second in B.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club on Oct. 19 played six tables in a stratified Mitchell movement directed by Don Brennaman. Judy Bevan and Virginia Seaver placed first in A playing North-South. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley won second in A and first in B. Bobby and Elle Patton came in first in C, second in B and third in A.

At East-West, Mary Joyce and Mary Beth Treece won first in A and B, and Shari Krentzel and Virginia Hamilton won second in A and B. Janet Riley and Addie Nyquist won third in A and B and first in C.

¢ Don Brennaman directed the Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game Oct. 21. Nine tables played a stratified Mitchell movement. Kent McCullough and Chuck Hedges led the North-South pairs winning first in A. Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor won second in A, and Gladys Rivard and Janice Hollowell placed third in A and first in both B and C. Bob Anderson and Betty Spalsbury won second in B and C.

Lois Clark and Betty Collier won first in A, B and C at East-West. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won second in A, B and C, followed by Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks, who were third in A and B.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club on Oct. 23 played a stratified Howell movement at five tables directed by Jerry Sloan. Ed Howard and Vince Russo won first in A. Bobby Patton and Addie Nyquist won second in A and first in B. Mary Fenlon and Mary White won third in A, and Bob Anderson and Betty Spalsbury were second in B.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at 12 and a half tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Oct. 24. Playing North-South, Russell LaForce and Eldon Herd won first in A and B, followed by Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough who won second in A. Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark won third in A. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks won second in B, followed by Julia Dalton and Janice Hollowell. James Zhang and Lynn Hui won first in C.

Peter Petillo and Dave Piro led the East-West pair winning first in A. Donna Johnson and Paul Heitzman followed at second. Barbara McCorkle and Alice Leitch won first in B and C and third in A. Betty Collier and Carol Ball won second in B and C.

¢ University Bridge Club announces the winners of its Oct. 22 game. Hosts were John and Jane Golden and Leo and Mona Langlois.

Blue winners were: Willie Stoltenberg, first; Hank Miller, second; Paul Jordan, third; Roy Cropp, fourth; and Al Smith, fifth. Pink winners were: Aileen Bocquin, first; Carol Smith, second; Carolyn Jordan, third; Mona Langlois, fourth; and Mary Jo Spotts, fifth.
