No. 1 Huskers thump Kansas

? Nebraska swept Kansas University, 3-0, in Big 12 Conference volleyball, handing the Jayhawks their sixth straight loss.

The top-ranked Huskers won, 30-23, 30-20 and 30-20 to remain undefeated at 20-0 overall, 11-0 in the league. Kansas fell to 12-9, 4-8.

Sophomore Emily Brown led the KU offense with 11 kills and added eight digs. Outside hitters Paula Caten contributed nine kills and seven digs, while Megan Hill had six kills. Jamie Mathewson paced the defense with nine digs, and Andi Rozum ran the offense with 32 assists.

KU hit just .056 in the match, committed 11 service errors and was outblocked by the Huskers 15.0 to 3.0. The Huskers hit at a .282 clip and were led by sophomore Sarah Pavan (12 kills) and junior Christina Houghtelling (11 kills).

Kansas will play host to No. 14 Texas (14-3, 9-2) on Saturday. Match time is 7 p.m. at Horejsi Center.
