Potawatomi tribe to distribute grants
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation’s Charitable Contributions Committee plans to provide financial assistance to four organizations in Lawrence.
The nation plans to distribute $116,560 to 18 organizations during a ceremony Wednesday at the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Bingo Hall in Mayetta.
Among those set to receive contributions:
¢ Lawrence Indian Art Show, $8,000.
¢ Lawrence Meals on Wheels, $2,000.
¢ Haskell Veterans Club, $5,000.
¢ Haskell Catholic Campus Center, $1,500.
The committee considers four areas of focus when determining the distribution of funds: education, health and community services, environment and religion.
