Volleyball falls at Baylor

? Despite double-digit kills by four players, the Kansas University volleyball team fell to Baylor, 31-29, 30-26, 27-30, 30-20, on Saturday night at the Ferrell Center. The loss dropped KU to 12-8 overall and 4-7 in Big 12 Conference play. Baylor is 12-10 and 4-7.

Senior Josi Lima led the Jayhawks with 16 kills and added 11 digs. Sophomore Emily Brown had 13 kills and 11 digs, and junior Paula Caten had 12 kills and 10 digs.

“I am very pleased with the effort and energy tonight,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “There are some technical things we need to improve on, but they are fixable. The team is in the right frame of mind right now and extremely united in what they know they can accomplish this season.”

KU will try to stop its five-match skid at 7 p.m. Wednesday against top-ranked Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb.
