Janet Current, of Peoples Bank, and Chris Marshall, of Callahan Creek, accept the Pacesetter Superstar Trophy on Sept. 8 at the United Way of Douglas County Campaign Kick Off Breakfast. The Superstar Trophy is given to the businesses with the highest percentage of increase in United Way gifts from the previous year.

Pepperdine and Moore won the tricycle relay race, defeating teams from the Charlton Manley offices in Kansas City and Topeka. Funds raised by the tricycle race were donated to the United Way of Douglas County.

Employees and volunteers for the Visiting Nurses Assn. and Hospice Care in Douglas County sponsored a barbecue on Sept. 14. The event raised nearly 75 for the United Way of Douglas County.
