Jayhawks ousted in tennis

? Kansas University’s two remaining athletes were eliminated from the winner’s brackets Friday at the ITA Central Regional Championships.

Freshman Ksenia Bukina, a day after she beat the regional’s top seed, lost in the singles bracket to Nebraska’s Vanessa Huete, 6-4, 6-4. Then, Bukina and sophomore Elizaveta Avdeeva lost in the quarterfinals of the doubles draw, 8-4, to Nebraska’s Imke Reimers and Ewelina Skaza.

Avdeeva and Skoda each will compete in the consolation singles quarterfinals today.
