As part of the international art event “Convergence: Work by Canadian and U.S. Women Artists,” a grand opening reception will be from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Kansas University’s Art and Design Gallery.

“Convergence” showcases work by 18 women artists. Nine artists are from Lawrence, and nine are from Canada.

This communitywide art event includes numerous exhibits, workshops, panel discussions and more.

As part of “Convergence,” a collaborative installation titled “Paths and Structures” will be on exhibit until Oct. 28 at the Art and Design Gallery.
