Community Shelter offers chocolate, tea

The Lawrence Community Shelter will host its fifth annual Chocolate and Tea at Three fundraiser from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6.

The event at the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, 1 Riverfront Plaza, will feature chocolate creations and aromatic teas and coffees, along with music.

The shelter provides services for the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless. For more information, call 832-8864.

There are plenty of baked goods at the farmers market. They are likely very popular.

yes, there is far too little effort to help "homeless" persons escape their lifestyle and their self-eroding choices that put them there. too much effort at making them comfortable (enabling them) in this condition.

more homeless means more lewd, more drug, more drunk, more arson, more property crimes, more violent crimes etc. etc.

how many of these "homeless" are attracted here by the services provided in lawrence?

how many homeless are actually here fleeing parole, or jail time in other jurisdictions?

smitty is right, there is a serious concentration of lawlessness because of this "shelter."
