Piano student invited to play with symphony

Piano student Nick Susi recently took home first place in a competition that awarded him a spot in an upcoming symphony performance.

Susi, a freshman studying piano under Kansas University professor Jack Winerock in the music and dance department, recently won first prize in the 2005 Very Young Artist award competition with his performance of Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Concerto No. 1” for piano, trumpet and strings. Susi was rewarded with a featured performance with the Webster University Symphony Orchestra, where he will perform “Totentanz” by Franz Liszt.

Susi will perform Sunday with the Webster University Symphony Orchestra in St. Louis.
