¢ Clinton FD Run: Pre-registration deadline is Friday for the Clinton Fire Department 5K and mile fun run Oct. 22 at the Bloomington area of Clinton Lake. For information, call Dennis Snodgrass at 865-8526.

¢ Reichert Low: Van Reichert carded a 76 and won Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by a stroke over Bud Stagg. Chris Anderson was third with an 81. Tom Dennis and Bob Cohen each shot 85. In net scoring, Curt Anderson was low with a 73, followed by Ed Phlegar 74 and Mike Naegele, Richard High and Bob Losasso, each with a 76.

¢ Beltch Selected: Jim Beltch, who spent three decades as Lawrence High’s wrestling coach, is one of nine men selected for a lifetime achievement award by the Kansas chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Beltch and the eight others will be honored Nov. 6 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.

¢ Dodgeball Deadline: The registration deadline for city adult fall dodgeball has been extended to Friday. For information, call 832-7920 or go to www.lprd.org.

¢ Sloan, Reaney Shine: Emma Reaney won 10 gold medals and Lawrence Aquahawks’ teammate Ben Sloan earned nine golds and a silver at the Fall Halloween Classic swim meet last weekend in Springfield, Mo. The Aquahawks’ Chloe Portela had two firsts, five seconds and a third. Morgan Flannigan earned a first place, five seconds and a third. Marvaughon Harvey claimed a second and four thirds. Cameron Case earned a pair of bronze medals.

¢ Wilson Hole-in-One: Ray Wilson used a pitching wedge to ace the 105-yard No. 2 hole Wednesday at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Bob Schwartz and Ron Oldham.
