Cyclones confirm special-teamer out

? Ryan Baum, one of Iowa State’s most valuable special-teams players, will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury, the school confirmed Wednesday.

Baum tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Iowa State’s 23-13 loss to Baylor on Saturday. He will have surgery next week.

A junior from Gilbert, Baum is fifth in the Big 12 Conference in punt returns with an 11.8-yard average.
