Seabury, EHS battle to tie in soccer, 1-all

? Seabury Academy spent most of its high school soccer game Thursday playing catch-up against Eudora High.

The Seahawks finally caught the Cardinals, scoring late in regulation for a 1-all tie in double overtime.

Shin Jae Lee scored on an assist from Aaron Chung late in the second half.

Eudora had scored early in the first half.

“It was a spirited game,” Seabury coach Gunar Harmon said. “I’d definitely say it was our best game. We’re starting to play soccer. It’s more fun to watch.”

Harmon cited the play of Chung, Sinar Ozar, Max Cannon and Peter Zemansky.

“Sinan Ozar clashed heads with one of our own players and played the whole second half,” Harmon said. “We had to match them athletically. They had a couple of very quick players. Once we neutralized them, our other players had to step up and play. It’s a positive step in the right direction.”

Seabury (3-6-2) will play host to Kansas City Schlagle tonight at the Youth Sports Inc. fields.
