KU women’s golf in second place

? Kansas University’s women’s golf team was in second place after the first two rounds Monday of the ORU Shootout. KU, the only team to shoot a round under 300 on the day, shot a first-round 312 and a second-round 298 at the Meadow Brook Country Club.

“Overall, I am pleased with our performance today,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “If we stick with our strategy, I think we can bring home a team and individual victory.”

Kansas trails Oral Roberts by one stroke after the host school posted a 609.

Kansas senior Chelsey Pryor leads the tournament by two strokes after posting back-to-back rounds of 74. Junior Jill Womble is tied for third at 78-74-152. Junior Amanda Costner and sophomore Annie Giangrosso each shot 80-75-155 and are tied for 14th. Senior Meredith Winkelmann is in 56th after an 82-84-166. Sophomore Sarah Kierl, playing as an individual, is in a tie for 66th after rounds of 90 and 80.
