Men’s golf ties for sixth place

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team tied for sixth place in the 12-team Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate on Sunday.

KU shot a third-round 291 for a three-day total of 879 on the par-72 Vanderbilt Legends Club.

“It was kind of a disappointing tournament,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “I saw some good things, but there are certainly aspects we need to work on. We will do that and be ready for our next tournament.”

Virginia won the team title with an 858. Baylor was second with an 865.

Junior Gary Woodland led the Jayhawks for the third straight tournament. The Berryton native fired a 67 to finish in a tie for third at 213.

Freshman Zach Pederson tied for 11th at 215. Senior Pete Krsnich tied for 24th at 220.

KU will travel to The Prestige, Oct. 17-18 in La Quinta, Calif.
