Byron Myrick, of Lawrence, will be performing in a two-character play based on the slave narratives of William Wells Brown. “Call Me Out My Name” was originally commissioned by the Missouri Historical Society.

The performance is part of a lineup of activities for the Gordon Parks Celebration of Culture and Diversity at Fort Scott Community College. Events also will include a blues and barbecue concert, a tribute to Avery Brooks and an appearance by Bill Kurtis.
