Pederson leads field; KU tied for second

? Kansas University freshman Zach Pederson is in first place after Friday’s first round of the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate at Vanderbilt Legends Club.

Pederson shot a 4-under-par 68, helping the Jayhawks post a team total of 292. KU is in a four-way tie for second place in the team standings. Baylor leads after a 290 total.

“Zach played a very good round today,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “We are still in the hunt for the team title, we just need to get everyone on the same page.”

Junior Gary Woodland is tied for sixth after posting a 71. He was followed by senior Pete Krsnich (76) in a tie for 40th, junior Barrett Martens (77) in a tie for 47th, and junior Tyler Docking (82) in a tie for 62nd.

The tournament continues today.
