Rollover wreck briefly ties up K-10

Kansas Department of Transportation workers and Douglas County Sheriff's officers work to clean up debris from the scene of an accident in the westbound lane of K-10 Highway Monday morning east of Lawrence.

A 19-year-old man fell asleep at the wheel and rolled his truck Monday morning on Kansas Highway 10, briefly stopping traffic.

The wreck happened at 10:10 a.m. about four miles east of Lawrence. Brian T. Gronniger of Independence, Mo., was driving a 2003 Ford truck west when he fell asleep, swerved onto the shoulder, woke up, overcorrected and lost control, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The vehicle came to rest in the left westbound lane.

Gronniger was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
