Old home town – 100 years ago today

From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 29, 1905: “Manager Lansdon is in Kansas City today making final arrangements for the Kansas-Missouri football game on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Tickets for the game are being sold so rapidly that the management fears the park will not be able to accommodate the crowd. The sales have been far beyond anyone’s expectations. : A young boy in police court for being drunk came to the World to have his name left out of the newspaper. Asked if he had any rights, he was told he had the same rights as the next man, whose name also would be used in such a case.”
