KU’s Lima makes all-Big 12 team

Kansas University senior middle blocker Josi Lima was named to the All-Big 12 Conference volleyball team for the fourth consecutive season.

Lima, a 6-foot native of Brazil, led KU with 3.44 kills and 1.14 blocks per game in the regular season and notched double-digit kills in 22 of the Jayhawks’ 29 matches, including 21 or more kills on three occasions.

Kansas’ all-time kills leader (1,479), Lima is 16 digs away from becoming just the third Jayhawk in school history to record both 1,000 kills and digs in a career.

All-Big 12 honors are selected by the league’s head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

KU earned its third-straight NCAA Tournament bid and will face UCLA (18-10) in the first round at 10 p.m. Friday at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
