High school students can participate in a new art competition held in conjunction with Kansas Day celebrations in January. The categories are painting, drawing, photography, three-dimensional and “other.” Works should be based on the theme “Kansas … As Beautiful as You Think.”

Winners of each category will receive a $100 scholarship; the grand prize winner will receive $300. Finalists will have their works displayed at the Native Sons and Daughters Banquet on Jan. 27 in Topeka.
