From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 28, 1905: "While in Washington attending the convention of the National Association of State Universities, KU Chancellor Frank Strong met President Roosevelt, who had good words for Kansas and Kansas people, the chancellor says. : It is important to note that Dr. Simeon Bell of Rosedale has given $20,000 more to the medical school of Kansas University. This makes a total of nearly $100,000 given by Dr. Bell, including the grounds upon which the buildings are being erected. The generosity is tremendous for the benefit of the university and the public. : There is great worry by coach Bert Kennedy about his Kansas football team because so many good people are injured and may not be at top form for the Nov. 30 game with Missouri in Kansas City. The nerves of all the players are strained to try to get a victory against a bitter rival :"
