? Kansas University’s volleyball squad ended its regular season with a 3-0 loss Saturday to Iowa State in Hilton Coliseum, dropping the Jayhawks to 15-14 overall and 7-13 in Big 12 Conference play.

Now, the Jayhawks must wait to see if they are invited to the NCAA Tournament. Brackets will be announced at 1:30 p.m. today on ESPN News (Sunflower Broadband Channel 140).

KU hung tough in two games but lost, 30-27, 30-14, 30-27. Senior Paula Caten led KU with nine kills, nine digs and two aces, and senior Josi Lima and sophomore Megan Hill each added seven kills.

The Jayhawks were without senior setter Andi Rozum, who sat out because of an injury. Sophomore Emily Brown ran the offense and totaled a career-high 27 assists to go with seven digs.

KU hit just .040 in the match (31 kills and 27 errors on 101 attempts).

Iowa State improved to 16-15 overall and 9-11 in the Big 12.

“I was pleased with the way we played in games one and three, but we needed plays to extend the match and weren’t able to do that,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “I was proud of the way we battled under such tough circumstances. A lot of our players had to play new roles tonight, and we only wish we could have finished stronger.”
