Second man charged in bicyclist shooting

? A 20-year-old man was charged Friday with first-degree murder in the death of a bicyclist who was killed on his way home from work.

Fabian D. Brown was also charged with one count of armed criminal action in the killing Sunday of Robert Osborn, 43, said Calvin Williford, spokesman for the Jackson County prosecutor’s office.

Osborn was shot to death as he rode his bike home from work at an Independence grocery store. Police said he was targeted because the suspects were looking for someone to kill because they were bored.

“It’s pretty scary stuff,” police department spokesman Darin Snapp said.

The second defendant, Rapheal L. Willis, 19, has also been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Snapp said police were looking into the possibility that Brown and Willis, who were friends, were involved in four other random shootings in the past three or four months.
