Jolie, Pitt take tour of earthquake-ravaged Pakistan

? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt made a low-key visit to earthquake-ravaged northern Pakistan, U.N. refugee agency officials said.

Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, traveled with Pitt to a village in a remote valley on an unannounced trip.

The pair flew aboard a helicopter that brought food, blankets and plastic sheets to improve shelters, said Jack Redden, spokesman for the U.N. refugee agency.

He said that Pitt and Jolie, who arrived in the country Thursday, also visited the hard-hit town of Balakot and a tent camp for quake survivors who lost their homes in the Oct. 8 quake that killed more than 87,000 people, the vast majority in Pakistan.

Jolie planned to take part in a news conference Friday in Islamabad, along with U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, who toured quake-stricken areas separately from Jolie and Pitt on Thursday.
