It’s been quite the year for John O’Hurley. The undisputed favorite of the summer’s smash reality/distraction showcase “Dancing with the Stars” returns to host “The National Dog Show” (11 a.m., NBC), time approximate following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“The National Dog Show” has grown in popularity and has become an annual holiday favorite in its own right. Thousands of dogs will compete for the coveted “Best in Show” title. They represent 150 breeds. Or, as we like to say in our house, they represent pugs and 149 other breeds.

This year the dog show will also feature Rally to the Rescue to raise money for pet-rescue efforts to help four-pawed victims of hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region.

¢ Nothing says Thanksgiving like a trip to the pyramids. Or maybe not. “Scooby-Doo: Where’s My Mummy” (11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Cartoon Network), the latest installment in the long-running mystery franchise, follows the gang to the Middle East. I wonder how they get the van through customs? The frightful shenanigans begin when the ever-curious Velma discovers a necklace dating back to the time of Cleopatra.

¢ Apparently, there’s no place like home, even for computer-generated clownfish in the 2003 hit children’s comedy adventure “Finding Nemo” (7:30 p.m., ABC). Albert Brooks provides the voice of the nervous father clownfish, who ventures far from safety to save his son Nemo (Alexander Gould). But most of the laughs go to the scatter-brained Dory (Ellen DeGeneres).

¢ Featuring a cast consisting almost entirely of soap opera stars, the 2005 comedy “Carpool Guy” (6 p.m. and 9 p.m., Soapnet) marks the directorial debut of Corbin Bernsen.

¢ The Peanuts gang talks turkey on “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (7 p.m., ABC).

¢ A downsized corporate manager (Eddie Murphy) takes up a new line of work in the 2003 comedy “Daddy Day Care” (7 p.m., Fox).

¢ Chris retreats to Greg’s house on “Everybody Hates Chris” (7 p.m., UPN).
