Old home town – 40 years ago today

As of the coming fall, the Kansas University Graduate School planned to put most of its financial aid dollars into a new four-year package, called the Honors Fellowship Program – a new approach to aid for the school.

KU Chancellor Clarke Wescoe and his aides were planning to appear in Topeka to make appeals for increased university budgeting funds for the coming fiscal year.

Among men seeing combat duty in Vietnam was Marine Lt. Herb Kasold, a Lawrence High and KU graduate who was flying helicopters.

The Alpha Kappa Lambda social fraternity at KU announced plans for a new $200,000, 75-man chapter house at 2021 Stewart Ave.
