Aspiring filmmakers in kindergarten through 12th grade in Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri are invited to submit films by Nov. 28 for the Digital Media Online (DiMO) Awards competition.

The program is sponsored by the Kansas University research group known as Advanced Learning Technologies in Education Consortia (ALTEC).

The Oscar-style K-12 film festival is set for Jan. 20-21 at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

The festival will include a night of film screenings, a day of student workshops with teacher collaboration led by professional filmmakers, and a semi-formal awards gala.
